This policy covers Tranzit Logistics' admin panel and driver mobile app (together, the "Services"), operated by Tranzit Logistics, Plot 24, Etibe Road, Kampala, Uganda.
Who uses the Services
The Services are internal business tools for Tranzit Logistics staff, drivers, and authorized partners — not a consumer product. Accounts are created and approved by company administrators.
What we collect
- Account information: name, email address, and role, for staff and drivers who sign in.
- Operational records: routes, shipments, trucks, trailers, crew assignments, costs, payments, and documents (e.g. waybills, receipts, vehicle paperwork) needed to run transport projects.
- Location data: the driver app records a truck's GPS location during trips, and occasionally while a driver is logged in off-trip, so dispatch can track where the vehicle is. This is tied to the vehicle/device, not collected for drivers' personal devices or outside their work with us.
- Photos and media: task/event photos (e.g. proof of delivery, fuel receipts, weighbridge tickets) captured through the driver app.
- Device information: for driver phones provisioned by the company, the device is bound to a specific vehicle/mobile record for login purposes.
Signing in with Google
Staff and drivers can sign in using Google Sign-In. We request only your basic profile (name, email address) to identify your account — we do not request access to your Google Drive, Gmail, Calendar, or any other personal Google data through this sign-in, and we do not read or store your Google password.
Our use of the Google Drive API
Separately from sign-in, the admin panel uses the Google Drive API to store and retrieve business documents (vehicle paperwork, crew documents, receipts, and files attached to trucks/trailers/crew/mobiles) inside a Google Drive that belongs to, and is controlled entirely by, Tranzit Logistics' own company Google account.
This access is limited to that one company-owned Drive.It does not connect to, read, or store any files from an individual staff member's, driver's, or client's personal Google Drive. The scopes requested let the app create folders, and upload, list, and delete files, only within the company Drive folder tree this integration itself creates — nothing outside it. Google Drive data accessed this way is used solely to display and manage those documents inside our admin panel, is not shared with any third party beyond the service providers listed below, and is not used for advertising.
How we use collected data
To operate and account for logistics projects — assigning and tracking trucks/trailers/crew, recording trips and deliveries, processing driver payments and expenses, generating financial exports, and communicating with staff and clients about ongoing work.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to store and process data on our behalf — for database and account storage, and for accounting/financial record-keeping. We also use Google, for Google Sign-In and for the Drive document storage described above. Each only processes data as needed to provide that service to us. We do not sell personal information, and do not share it for advertising purposes.
Data retention and deletion
We keep account and operational records for as long as needed to run the business and meet our legal and accounting obligations. Staff or drivers who want their account data reviewed, corrected, or deleted can contact us using the details below; we'll act on that request unless we're required to keep specific records (e.g. for accounting).
Security
Access to the admin panel requires an approved account, and access to the driver app is bound to a specific company-provisioned device. Data is stored with our providers listed above, who apply their own security controls in transit and at rest.
Children
The Services are for our adult staff and drivers and are not directed at children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our systems and operations evolve, and will update the date above.
